Solstice offers you a wide variety of refrigerators and freezers powered by alternative energy and that need very low voltage to work (direct courant 12V or 24V). These refrigerators are known for there very low energy consumption and allow conservation of food when alternative courant is not available. Even if we think that a propane refrigerator is the best solution, its good to know that most of the modern propane refrigerators for RVs need 12V DC to work on propane. Actually, the boards that control the temperatures and the ignition uses courant at all times to monitor the system. Furthermore, burning propane will create carbon monoxide, if not evacuated properly, may be fatal to the RV occupants.

POWER YOURSELF WITH GREEN ENERGY
A 12/24 volt refrigerator works differently from a traditional propane model that is probably already in your recreational vehicle or in your cottage. Solstice products are more like a home fridge.
All of our refrigerators include a 12/24 volt DC compressor and not a cooling coil like propane refrigerators.
The compressor draws between 2.5 and 3.5 amps per hour at 12 volts DC. Our fridges adapt to the desired temperature and therefore do not consume energy at all times like other 12-volt products on the market. Once your device reaches the requested temperature, it shuts down completely. The compressor only restarts when the fridge is no longer cold enough.
The fridge performs cooling cycles that last between 10 and 15 minutes. This cycle may vary depending on the ambient temperature and the number of times the door is opened.
The technology present in a low voltage electric fridge generates cold much faster than with a propane fridge.
In a 12/24 volt electric fridge, there is no ammonia but rather a refrigerant gas, R134. This is the type of gas we use in our fridges at home. In addition to being more effective, it is much easier to repair.
Obviously, we often combine this type of fridge with a larger capacity of batteries and solar panels of the power equal to our needs.
